MANAGERIAL COMPETENCIES IN MANAGING RESIDENTIAL SOCIAL SERVICES FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH
Abstract
The present paper is focused on recent trends in management of
residential child and youth social care. The article presents a brief overview of the nature
of this type of specialized institutions, as well as the use of them and main challenges they
face in present time in Bulgaria. The article addresses several research made in the field
of competencies and management in residential child care and social services. On the
basis of the presented theoretical constructs it is offered classification of managerial
competencies, typical for a manager of residential childcare social services.
