Abstract
The term e-learning is with increasingly popularity in today’s world. The
main engine of its development is the dynamic development of the information and
communication technologies, by which distances are no longer so important and the world
becomes a global village. This study examines the nature of e-learning, its development
from the end of 80’s to the present, as well as the advantages and disadvantages for the
organizations, which use it to maintain and update the knowledge and skills of their
employees.
