Crisis bank management /the case of Cyprus/
Abstract
This paper outlines the issue of 2012 - 2013 Cypriot financial crisis.
The paper presents brief history of Cypriot bank crisis, its consequences and
management. The case of Cyprus raised many controversial reactions, crossing
the border of the small southern European state and growing into a hot topic at
the EU level. From specific, unique and exceptional model, this case evolves in
a model for management of banking crises. The directive and regulation, that
establish a framework for recovery and resolution of credit institutions and
investment firms, are influenced to some extent by the case of Cyprus.
