Typological specifics in the regional development of the central and northeast parts of North Bulgaria
Abstract
A picture of north-eastern Bulgaria, which includes two planning
regions like the North Central Region and the North Eastern Region, has been
made in the present article. The overall assessment of the author is that the two
regions are interrelated to each other and that the two regions have similar
problems and need to seek common solutions. The article makes an overview
of some typological features in the regional development of the two regions –
pictures of the urban perspective of the individual major cities and their
surrounding regional communities have been made.A number of strategic
decisions have been proposed and the most realistic priorities for the
development of the two regions in the context of regional development have
been set.
