The Impact of transport costs on product cost and final price
Abstract
The management of companies in the production sector requires a detailed analysis and knowledge of the incoming, production and outgoing flow of products. The movement in time and space of raw materials and finished products is carried out by different types of transportation. The present paper discusses the main costs in road freight transport (RFT) and their impact on the product cost and final price, in particular on hygiene products.
In the context of growing global logistics challenges, transport costs are becoming increasingly important for the enterprise cost-effectiveness. Transportation represents a significant share of the final cost of goods in developing economies (World Bank, 2022).
