Quality Assurance in Higher Education as a Factor for Strengthening University–Business Partnership
Abstract
The growing interdependence between universities and the business sector places increasing emphasis on the quality of higher education. This paper investigates how quality assurance systems contribute to building sustainable partnerships between academia and industry.
It presents the European institutional framework for quality assurance, including key organizations and collaborative structures, as well as the development of common standards and guidelines within the European Higher Education Area. The study outlines both internal and external quality assurance mechanisms, emphasizing their role in ensuring transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Special attention is given to the European Quality Assurance Register (EQAR) and its function in enhancing trust, mobility, and mutual recognition across higher education systems. The findings suggest that well-developed quality assurance frameworks are essential for aligning educational outcomes with labor market needs and for fostering effective cooperation between universities and businesses.
