Information Management: Replication, Backup, and Recovery
Abstract
In an environment defined by rapidly growing data volumes and increasing regulatory demands, managing information effectively has become a critical organizational priority. This paper explores key approaches to ensuring data availability, security, and continuity through replication, backup, and recovery techniques.
The study outlines modern data storage architectures such as DAS, NAS, and SAN, and examines strategies for safeguarding critical information, including system redundancy and multi-site data centers. Special focus is placed on replication methods—both synchronous and asynchronous—as well as application-level and storage-level replication, each with its respective advantages and limitations.
The analysis also highlights the role of virtualization in enhancing system reliability and enabling uninterrupted business operations. The findings suggest that combining multiple approaches—replication, резервиране, and virtualization—provides the most effective solution for maintaining data integrity and ensuring business continuity in case of failures or disasters.
